Keston Primary School is a two form entry school, situated in Old Coulsdon, with 420 pupils on role. We also have places for 52 children in our nursery each morning with additional sessional care available for these children in the afternoon.
Here at Keston we are proud of our children and of our achievements; our school community is committed to the pursuit of excellence. Our curriculum aims to offer all children a broad and balanced, relevant and differentiated education providing both challenge and support for each child. The staff, governors, parents and children at Keston have worked together to ensure that our Mission Statement reflects all our school has to offer; please take the time to read the Mission Statement which can be found in the information section of the website.
We believe that children should be offered a wide range of experiences during their time at Keston. We have an onsite swimming pool, which enables the children from Reception to Year 6 to have lessons within the school day, and arrange a variety of visits, workshops and activities during the school year to enhance their learning. The school has a Breakfast Club and offers a wide range of lunchtime and after school clubs to all the children, these vary from term to term and include sports and activities such as art, drama, film, chess and French.
The staff and governors at Keston aim to work in partnership with parents and carers, thus enabling each child to achieve their full potential and have a happy, secure, productive and rewarding school experience. We encourage parents to spend time within the school supporting the children’s learning; we currently have over 90 CRB checked parents and carers who are able to offer this support.
Keston has a very successful PTA committee who work together with the parents to raise funds for a wide variety of projects throughout the school; their support has enabled us to refurbish the Early Years outdoor areas and enhance the school's ICT provision.
Please have a look through the website for more information on both this term’s curriculum for each year group and for information on activities which have taken place. The school calendar provides an outline of events which are happening this term.
Further information for current parents and carers about curriculum activities and clubs can be found on Fronter. Each year group page on Fronter will provide you with activities which will support your child’s learning so please take the time to explore the website with them. Each child has their own log on and password; parents can also access the site through the parents log in which is available from the school office. There is a link to Fronter at the bottom of the page list opposite.
