At the end of March, Year 5 had a go at making bread rolls, as part of our investigation into irreversible changes. We mixed the ingredients, waited for the dough to rise, shaped it, waited for it to rise again and baked it. The rolls tasted delicious!

As part of our World Book Day celebrations,  both year 5 classes were visited by a local author – John Press.  He was very impressed with the depth of questions that the children asked him and, as a result of his visit, the children learnt a lot about writing books.  John is kindly making his book-  Return of the Purple Paw…

Well done to Daisy and her year 5 team, Theo, Ajay  and Joe, who organised and ran (with the help of Oliver and Mihir) an after school cake sale raising an impressive £347 for The Brain Tumour Charity.

On Thursday 24th January, Keston gala team which consisted of 35 children competed in the Croydon swimming gala at Purley pool.  The team did amazingly well and fought off strong competition to win the Best Overall Girls and the Best Overall School trophies.

Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed the workshop with Mr Chadwick the Candle stick maker on Tuesday.  We learnt about the plague and got to act out some of the events during the Great Fire of London.  Some of us dressed up and we all had a chance to take part.  

To end our topic on Ancient Greece, Year 5 had the opportunity to use our new Food Technology room. We created our own version of Greek Pastries using puff pastry, feta cheese, olives, tomatoes and fresh basil. We had a lot of fun and were able to take our pastries home at the end of…

On Friday 7th December we had our fantastic Christmas Workshop! Lots of parents and grandparent joined us for a fun filled morning, making wreaths,baubles, snowmen masks, crackers, chocolate biscuit reindeer and lots more… The children even got the chance to prepare some special reindeer food for Christmas Eve.
